A New 2022 security patch has already been applied to the OnePlus smartphone, and the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro in India can now download the update. For the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, the firm has begun distributing a fresh OxygenOS 12.1 update.

Known Issues

  • Carrier version devices (VZW) aren't compatible with the Open beta builds.
  • After the flashlight is activated, the notification of the flashlight switch will not be shown on the lock screen.
  • Incoming call notifications will not be displayed when an iPhone is calling.

    • Adds a new type of Always-On Display that shows live information about music, ride-hailing, and food delivery (Supports only some apps).
    • Adds media playback control, and optimizes the Quick Settings experience.
    • Adds more markup tools for screenshot editing.
    • Adds support for adding widgets to the Home screen, making information display more personalized.
    • Adds Sidebar Toolbox. You can open a floating window inside apps for smooth operation.
    • Upgrades Doodle in Notes. You can now draw on graphics to take notes more efficiently.
    • Optimizes Shelf. Swiping down on the Home screen will bring up Shelf by default. You can search content online and on your device.

If you're in India, launch the Google Dialer and enter *#800# to report bugs. You'll discover a menu where you can report bugs. Note: This upgrade will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.

Note: In order to upgrade to this build successfully, be sure that your device is in the latest OxygenOS 12 version (C.65).

  • Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
  • Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
  • Go to Settings -> About device -> Version -> Click Build number 7 times and enter the password, now you are in the developer mode.
  • Go back Settings -> About device -> Up to date -> Click the top right button -> Local install -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Extract -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
  • After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
  • Update successful.

Downgrade

  1. Download the latest ROM rollback zip package from the specified server.
  2. Copy the ROM rollback package to the phone storage.
  3. Go to Settings -> About device -> Version -> Click Build number 7 times and enter the password, now you are in the developer mode.
  4. Go back to Settings -> About device -> Up to date -> Click the top right button -> Local install -> Click on the corresponding rollback package -> Extract -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
  5. After the rollback is complete, click Restart.
  6. Rollback successful.

  3. Install this apk . You'll need it to roll back. Then, open the app -> tap the top right gear icon -> find the downgrade package and tap it -> wait to finish the installation -> tap reboot
  4. After the rollback is complete, click Restart.
  5. Rollback successful.

 

Please note that if you are not able to click "Local install", you can try the following step to fix it:

  1. Disconnect all Wi-Fi and Mobile data
  2. Go to Settings -> Apps -> App management -> Click the top right button -> Show system -> search "Software update" in the search bar and tap "Software update" -> Storage usage -> Clear data
  3. Keep all networks disconnected and repeat the upgrade or rollback guide
